So this week I'm back with a little treat holder idea for Halloween trick-or-treaters. This is a clean and simple idea that would be fun to make in multiples. You can see how this project came to together by clicking HERE.
I started with two strips of card stock to create the base treat holder:
* Black, measuring 2" x 11", scored at 5" and 6"
* Sahara Sand measuring 2" x 6.5", scored at 2", 3", 5", 6"
Once those two main pieces are cut and scored, you're good to go. For the black piece, use the tag topper punch (your favorite will do) and punch each end of the black strip. Fold all pieces on the score lines and add Tear & Tape or SNAIL adhesive to the 1/2" section of the Sahara Sand piece. This creates the belly band that slips over the black base piece once the rice treat is in place.
Now you're ready to decorate. I started with a strip of Old Olive card stock and trimmed up each end in a fishtail shape. Then used the Starburst punch to create a Pumpkin Pie mat, then stamped a sentiment in black ink from the Spooktacular Bash stamp set on Whisper White card stock and punched it out with my 1-3/4" circle punch. I layered them together using dimensional adhesive and added a bit more decoration with a punch of vellum using the leaf punch. It seems like a lot, but it goes very quickly when you have the right punches. I suspect I'll be able to put 30 of these together in about an hour, maybe an hour and 15 min and I'll be all set for the trick-or-treaters on Halloween night.
