I'm back this Sunday with another Clean & Simple Christmas card, this time using product from the Christmas Time is Here suite. This is a bold, floral Christmas suite but even bold product can lend itself well to Clean + Simple cards... you can see the video of how this card came together HERE.
This is such a beautiful suite of product but it's bold and sometimes when I'm faced with overwhelming pattern and deep, rich color, I need time to come up with a way to use it to make something simple. I've been considering this stamp set and these gorgeous papers since they arrived on my doorstep about a month before they were released to customers. One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is the ability to see and order product early. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this, but then felt a little overwhelmed when I finally had it in my clutches!
This card came together pretty quickly once I tried a couple of ideas. The original started with an oval shape for the sentiment panel and I was struggling to get the sentiment stamped straight in the oval, so I switched to a circle and had much better results, instantly! Adding the pine images to the base card was also an after-thought. I love how it adds a little depth to the design. The foil stamped DSP (designer series paper) is gorgeous and adds just the right amount of interest to the overall card design without completely stealing the show. This would be a very easy card to mass produce if you send out a lot of Christmas cards.
