Hello there friends... I'm back today with another clean and simple Christmas card, this time using a banner image and some sprig dies from the Toile Christmas stamp and die bundle.
I'm sure if you were planning to make your Christmas cards this year you'd probably be done with them by now. Please save this idea for next year!!
Here is the VIDEO
Clean and simple cards don't have to be created on just white card bases. You can certainly incorporate color and still maintain a clean and simple design. I use white a lot because I love the clean, crisp look of the finished card. The main design strategy whenever you're creating a card that's clean and simple, is to give your viewer's eye places to rest. Blank areas of "white space" are restful and help the viewer to really focus on the main image.
I often try to achieve this by using tone-on-tone color schemes for the base card. In this case, a white base card with a white dry embossed panel covering the front. The embossing adds a subtle texture (which makes the card more interesting) but it doesn't distract or compete with the focal image. The banner is stamped in real red on a white scrap of card stock and then cut out with the coordinating dies that came with the bundle. I included a kraft scalloped circle panel to help anchor my design to the card base. The green sprig dies were cut from mossy meadow card stock. The banner was popped up over the sprigs using dimensional foam adhesive.
Of course no card of mine is complete without a little sparkle. This week I used the Holiday rhinestone jewels to decorate.
I love how sweet and simple this card came out. I hope you like it too and it inspires you to make your own cards next year if you weren't able to get to it this year. My ideas are always up for grabs. I love to share what I make and help fellow stampers to feel inspired and successful in their stamping.
Next week I'll be sharing some sneak peeks from the 2020 Spring Mini catalog!! See you then!
