Clean + Simple Card: Eclectic Garden from Stampin' Up!

Updated: Feb 16, 2022

Hello friends! This week I'm sharing a clean and simple card idea that offers a fun way to embellish, while keeping the card interesting and super clean and simple. To see how this card came together, click HERE. For a closer look at the card, keep reading...

This card came together so quick and easy! I started with the Eclectic Garden stamp set from Stampin' Up! I used the Pretty Flowers embossing folder to emboss the base layer. I then cut a die cut rectangle using the Scalloped Contours dies out of Pool Party card stock. I cut an additional basic white layer to fit within the scalloped rectangle. This is where I did my stamping. I always try to stamp the sentiment first when I'm adding both a sentiment and an image to a panel. This ensures that the words will fit properly within the space allotted and then I can fit the other image in around the words.

I stamped the little bunch of blueberries and the sentiment using Basic Gray ink. I colored the blueberries in using my Blender Pen and some ink from the inside of the Pool Party and Soft Seafoam ink pad lids. I just gave the pads a squeeze when they were closed so some ink would transfer to the lid for my use with the blender pen. This is a really fun way to color in small images. If you rub too much with the blender pen, the card stock starts to pill and rub away, so I think it's best used for small areas of coloring and this image was perfect!

After I colored the image, I wrapped some linen thread around the Pool Party rectangle panel and tied a bow on the far right edge. I used Stampin' Dimensionals (foam adhesive) to pop up the stamped panel and add it on top of the Pool Party rectangle.

The crowning touch that gives this card a little WOW was adding some Shimmery Crystal Effects to the blueberries. The pointy dispenser on this product makes adding this to small spaces/images very easy. Just smack the project on the desktop a couple of times when you've finished adding the product and the product will flatten a bit and settle into place. Set aside and let dry for several hours. This product is best added at the very end of your card creation so you can just set the card aside to dry and not have to make any other adjustments.

I hope you enjoy this sweet card project. If you need any supplies, please shop HERE. Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration, is in full swing!! Don't miss out on this fun gift-with-purchase promotion. You can find out all of the details HERE.
